BE SAFE

SAFETY is defined as the prevention of loss, and there is no greater loss than that of a child.

TEEN SAFETY is one of the most important topics a parent faces, especially when it comes to driving. The “rite of passage” when parents allow their teen drivers to venture out on their own is very stressful and challenging. Education and prevention are the keys to successfully negotiating this challenge.

The Board of Directors and our Foundation partners want to share tools and tips to make this journey successful. Many times this sharing takes the form of stories…., stories of the nature you do not want to experience for yourself.

There are three areas we’d like to focus on in hopes of educating parents and teens to some of the challenges you face.

These areas are:

  1. Hazardous Road Conditions, and how they may impact you and your teen driver.
  2. Vehicle Safety, namely distracted driving.
  3. Workplace Safety, as it applies to young workers and how Worker Compensation laws may impact you.

The Facts Surrounding Tyler’s Vehicle Incident

Before you evaluate the potential consequences of each situation listed above, you may choose to review the facts surrounding Tyler’s vehicle accident.

In addition we hope this information will increase the awareness of these situations by various Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies that are responsible for protecting its tax-paying citizens, and our teens.

In His Presence

A grieving father sits in seat 12C at 35,000 feet heading home in response to a tragic accident that has claimed the life of his son. It’s early and as darkness gives way to light, the rising sun cast a bright light above the white puffy clouds protruding from darker clouds below. As the sun continues to rise, I peer back over the wing but can’t actually see the sun, only the bright light. It is so bright! As our descent starts to take us into the clouds below, I’m filled with the Spirit in knowing this wondrous sight is evidence to this “dad” that another Father is in control. My son is in His presence.
